About this camp

The Little Space Explorer camp transforms the classroom into a NASA training center, offering young campers an immersive journey into astronomy, planets, stars, and space exploration. Through engaging, age-appropriate, hands-on activities, children become astronauts in training. They will learn about the sun, moon, planets, and the life of an astronaut. Projects include making "Moon Sand" to explore textures, creating "Fizzing Planets" to witness chemical reactions, and sampling real Space Ice Cream to understand how astronauts live in orbit. Campers will also participate in an Astronaut Obstacle Course to understand concepts like zero gravity and how much objects weigh on different planets. They will construct and use a Star Finder, build a telescope, and launch rockets. The program emphasizes sensory-based STEM learning, physics through play, and foundational space science, encouraging resilience, curiosity, and teamwork.
