This self-paced, online program allows high school students to develop a usable AI-powered prototype and gain a Startup UCLA Certificate of Completion, available year-round.
The Startup UCLA Pre-College Institute - AI-Enabled Entrepreneurship is a self-paced online program designed for high school students (grades 10-12) to develop real-world entrepreneurial skills using artificial intelligence. Students will engage in 5 modules that guide them from an initial startup idea to a usable AI-powered prototype. The curriculum focuses on understanding different types of AI, how AI models work, and applying AI tools for idea generation, market and user research, and prototype building. The program emphasizes hands-on activities and venture development, encouraging students to investigate real problems, evaluate opportunities, and create tangible solutions. By the end of the program, students will have built a usable prototype and gained a foundational understanding of responsible and ethical AI use.
Students complete self-paced modules on their own schedule, learning through online instructional programming and course materials.
This program is ideal for high school students interested in entrepreneurship, exploring AI, or creating social impact, who want to build practical skills and develop a tangible AI-powered prototype.
