Robotics Summer Program at UCLA

Students will gain a university-level course experience at UCLA, culminating in building and taking home their own robot.

🔥 High School 🕒 3-week Overnight Camp In-person All skill levels 💰 $4,699–$9,599 total

About this camp

This three-week Robotics Summer Program at UCLA introduces high school students to the essential software and hardware tools utilized in modern robotics. Participants will engage in hands-on projects, culminating in the design and assembly of a complete robot. The curriculum emphasizes practical skills such as 3D CAD for mechanical component development, wiring and programming microcontroller-based circuits (both virtually and on physical hardware), and creating autonomous behaviors in simulation, progressing from open-loop linear commands to closed-loop control using various sensors. Students will also learn engineering terminology, identify robotic mechanisms, and build and operate a small robotics kit. The program aims to challenge problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills, and students will build, test, and take home their own robot. An additional course fee of $295 for lab materials applies.
